Professor Indira Nath

Professor Indira Nath is a world renowned authority on leprosy and a recipient of Padma Shri (1999) for her contribution to the field of immunology.

Indira's research has aided creation of tools for diagnostics, immunotherapy and antigens for clinical investigation. Her discovery and her pioneering work constitutes a significant step towards the development of treatment and vaccines for leprosy.

Dr. Indira Hinduja is a pioneer in the field of Assisted Reproduction in India. The first scientifically documented IVF baby, born in 1986, was the result of her efforts, granting hope to countless infertile couples across India.

She, along with her colleague, Dr. Zaveri, delivered hope to numerous childless couples by means of In Vitro Fertilisation (IVF). With this success, she has rightfully made a place for herself in the Indian medical history. Dr. Hinduja’s efforts have culminated in the creation of IVF clinics all over India.
